“Even my husband is upset with me” – Warri Pikin apologizes after Timaya lifted her on stage

Nigerian comedian and actress Real Warri Pikin has publicly apologised after a viral moment involving singer Timaya during a recent performance. The incident occurred when Timaya invited a female fan onto the stage while performing his hit song Ukwu. According to Warri Pikin, she was backstage enjoying the performance when she heard the singer ask a lady to come on stage. She said she immediately rushed out, unaware of what would happen next. The comedian explained that she initially resisted when Timaya attempted to lift her during the performance. She said she was surprised when the singer asked her to jump onto him, insisting that she was reluctant and even pleaded with him in the full video. Warri Pikin, who is married to Ikechukwu, subsequently took to social media to apologise to Nigerians over the viral moment. She appealed to people to forgive her, saying she accepted responsibility for putting herself in the situation. “Nigerians, please take it easy on me, I’m really sorry. I take full responsibility for my actions. Na me put myself for this one o. Na me use my hand put myself for this one,” she said. The comedian explained that she had been unaware that Timaya’s performance of Ukwu would involve bringing a woman on stage and lifting her. She said she was simply backstage enjoying the music before deciding to join the singer when he called for a lady to come forward. “Na him I rush come outside. Na me put myself for this one,” she said. Warri Pikin also clarified that she did not willingly seek to be lifted, claiming that she was reluctant when Timaya made the request. She pointed out that viewers who watch the full video would see her trying to resist the situation. “If you watch the full video, you go see where I dey beg am. I was very reluctant,” she explained. The comedian further revealed that her husband, Ikechukwu, was upset with her over the incident. She noted that the situation was more difficult because she is currently in the United States, meaning she and her husband are physically apart while trying to resolve the matter. “Like this now Ikechukwu dey vex for me and you know say I dey America, e too far,” she said.
