Woman tragically killed in Lagos by her security guard 2 weeks after employing him (Photo)

Mabel Okafor, a resident of Victoria Island, Lagos, has been killed by her security guard, Abdul Latiff, just two weeks after employing him.
Latiff was employed in the first week of August 2026.
On August 16, he stabbed Okafor multiple times before fleeing with some of her belongings.
According to reports, a neighbour who heard Okafor calling out to her security guard went to check on her but Latiff told the neighbour that his madam was afraid of cockroaches, claiming that this was the reason she was shouting.
Latiff later entered Okafor’s room and took three of her phones, ₦10,000 in cash and other valuables before fleeing to Jalingo, Taraba State his hometown.
Okafor was later found dead by neighbours, who reported the incident to the police.
Following an investigation, the police traced Latiff to Taraba State, where he was arrested.
When questioned about the killing, Latiff attributed his actions to “the devil’s work.”
The circumstances surrounding Okafor’s death remain under investigation
