A fresh controversy has emerged around Nigerian real estate businessman King Ochacho after Pastor Dr. Miebi Bribena publicly accused him of owing ₦170 million and raised questions about the documentation surrounding the widely publicised ₦400 million Abuja mansion announced as a wedding gift to TikTok personality Peller and his wife, Jarvis. The allegations, which circulated online on October 5, have renewed scrutiny of the high-profile property gift that attracted widespread attention following Peller and Jarvis’ wedding in August. Bribena, founder of Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society, made a series of allegations concerning an earlier real estate transaction he said involved Ochacho. The pastor claimed that ₦170 million remains outstanding from the transaction. The accusation has not been established by a court, and the material reviewed for this report does not contain a substantive response from Ochacho addressing Bribena’s latest ₦170 million allegation. Peller's ₦400m House Enters the Controversy Post image Bribena also linked his dispute to the Abuja property announced as a gift to Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, and his wife, Elizabeth Amadou, better known as Jarvis. Ochacho announced the gift during the couple’s wedding in Lagos on August 1, telling guests that he was presenting them with a new Abuja house reportedly valued at ₦400 million. The announcement generated considerable attention online, with Ochacho subsequently describing the amount involved as relatively insignificant to him while promising further acts of generosity. However, questions later emerged about both the condition of the building and the documentation associated with the transfer. Bribena alleged that Peller had received a Power of Attorney but no deed of gift establishing that the property had been transferred to him. That allegation should not be interpreted as proof that Peller does not own or will not eventually own the property. Rather, it raises a legal question about whether the transfer has been fully documented and perfected. Post image The issue had already attracted attention before Bribena's latest intervention. Nigerian lawyer Bolaji Oluwatosin previously argued that the keys, allocation documents and Power of Attorney reportedly presented in connection with the property would not, on their own, constitute a perfected legal transfer. That distinction is significant because publicly announcing a property gift and completing all the legal processes necessary to transfer ownership are separate matters. Questions Over Construction Timeline

Bribena also questioned the timeline surrounding construction of the property. According to his account, the state of the multi-storey building raised doubts about suggestions that construction began only after the August wedding. The pastor referred to the time normally required for concrete work to cure as part of his argument. However, Tokenpress has not independently established when construction of the building actually began. Earlier social-media comments from Jarvis also indicated that the building was still under construction. She reportedly observed that the property had not yet been roofed and still required substantial work. Peller, however, defended the project during the discussion, saying construction was continuing and that he had been given a timeline for its completion. The unfinished state of the building therefore does not, by itself, establish wrongdoing. Bribena Expands Allegations The dispute goes beyond the Peller property. In separate allegations circulating online, Bribena listed several financial disputes involving different individuals and institutions. Among them was his claim that Ochacho owes him ₦170 million. He also referred to a dispute involving Globus Bank, alleging that ₦78 million was involved and that ₦46 million was recovered, leaving ₦32 million. Bribena further alleged that Kingsley Feboke and others were connected to another dispute involving approximately ₦1 billion. Another claim involved an alleged $40,000 transaction that Bribena associated with Feboke and a person he described as a personal assistant to Bayelsa State First Lady Gloria Diri. It is important to distinguish that allegation from a direct accusation against the First Lady herself. The material reviewed by Tokenpress does not establish that Gloria Diri personally received the alleged money. Bribena instead alleged that an aide was connected to the transaction and further claimed that the First Lady had protected or shielded Feboke. Those claims remain allegations and have not been independently proven. Bribena additionally referred to a dispute involving more than $1 million with First Bank, which he said is the subject of litigation. Currency Discrepancy Raises Caution There is also an important inconsistency in reports describing Bribena's alleged transaction with Ochacho. One report described the original investment as "$180 million" but subsequently stated that ₦10 million was returned, leaving ₦170 million outstanding. Those figures use different currencies and do not reconcile as written. Because Bribena's central public accusation is that Ochacho owes him ₦170 million, Tokenpress is treating the ₦170 million figure as an allegation while avoiding presenting the reported "$180 million" initial investment as an established fact until clearer documentation or clarification becomes available. Ochacho's High-Profile Public Image King Ochacho has attracted considerable attention in recent months through expensive gifts, celebrity associations and public philanthropy. Beyond the ₦400 million property announced for Peller and Jarvis, the businessman has publicly discussed other major property giveaways and charitable plans. In September, reports said he announced plans involving three houses reportedly valued at ₦500 million each, as well as a ₦1 billion property associated with Nigerian music star Davido. His highly visible generosity has helped make him a major subject of discussion on Nigerian social media. That public profile also means the latest allegations are likely to attract heightened attention. Allegations Require Independent Proof At this stage, the central issue remains an unresolved financial dispute presented publicly by Bribena. His claims against Ochacho, the allegations involving other individuals and institutions, and his assertions concerning the Peller property should not be treated as judicial findings. Similarly, questions about the legal documentation attached to Peller's house do not automatically establish that the original gift announcement was false. Further clarification could come from Ochacho, Ochacho Real Homes, Peller and Jarvis, the individuals and institutions mentioned by Bribena, or documentary evidence showing the status of the relevant transactions. Until then, the controversy remains a collection of serious but contested allegations requiring independent verification. For Peller and Jarvis, the key question is comparatively straightforward: whether the Abuja property announced as their ₦400 million wedding gift has been, or will be, formally transferred to them through the necessary legal documentation. For Bribena and Ochacho, the bigger question is whether records can substantiate the pastor's claim that a ₦170 million financial obligation remains unresolved.
