Greenpeg Nigeria Limited has announced its Technical Trainee Programme 2.0, offering young Nigerian graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience across engineering and technical sales roles. The programme targets Higher National Diploma holders seeking to build careers in industrial engineering and related commercial operations, with successful candidates expected to undergo structured training and gain exposure to real projects. According to information published on Greenpeg's official recruitment portal, the programme is full-time and onsite in Lagos, with candidates expected to have between zero and two years of experience. Seven positions are available across engineering and sales. Seven graduate trainee positions available Greenpeg says applicants can select from seven career tracks depending on their qualifications and professional interests. The engineering positions are Graduate Mechanical/Piping Engineer, Graduate Process Engineer, Graduate Instrumentation Engineer, Graduate Automation Engineer, and Graduate Electrical & Electronics Engineer. Two technical sales positions are also available: Graduate Internal Sales Engineer and Graduate External Sales Engineer. Each role provides trainees with supervised experience relevant to their chosen discipline. Mechanical and piping trainees, for example, are expected to support equipment design, piping layouts and preparation of technical drawings while gaining exposure to installation activities. Process engineering trainees will assist with calculations, equipment sizing and the preparation of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. Those selected for instrumentation roles will receive exposure to areas such as instrument selection, datasheet preparation, loop drawings, calibration, installation and commissioning. Automation trainees are expected to work under experienced engineers on programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, industrial communication systems and commissioning activities. Electrical and electronics trainees, meanwhile, will receive exposure to load calculations, cable sizing, electrical drawings, equipment selection, testing and installation. Opportunities also available in technical sales The programme is not restricted to traditional engineering roles. Greenpeg's internal sales engineering track is designed to expose trainees to the technical and commercial processes involved in responding to customer enquiries, selecting products, preparing quotations and tracking orders. External sales trainees will have a more client-facing role. According to the company, participants in this track may attend client-site visits and technical meetings, assist with developing sales opportunities, deliver product demonstrations and maintain customer relationships. The external sales position may also involve travel to client locations across Nigeria. Who can apply? Greenpeg says applicants must possess an HND from a recognised institution and must have completed the National Youth Service Corps programme or possess a valid exemption certificate. Candidates are also expected to be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Strong analytical, communication and report-writing abilities are among the general skills requested by the company. Additional qualifications depend on the selected career track. Applicants seeking engineering positions need an HND in an engineering discipline relevant to their chosen role and are expected to understand fundamental engineering principles. Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering software is considered an advantage rather than a universal mandatory requirement. Engineering candidates should also be prepared to work at project sites, including offshore locations, when required. For the sales tracks, Greenpeg accepts relevant HND qualifications in engineering, marketing, business administration or related disciplines. Candidates applying for these positions should have strong interpersonal skills and an interest in technical sales. Training includes exposure to live projects Greenpeg says the programme is intended to bridge the gap between academic education and practical industrial experience. Participants are expected to progress from fundamental training to supervised work on actual projects. The company operates across sectors including oil and gas, food and beverage, and fast-moving consumer goods. Trainees can therefore receive exposure to industrial environments while learning the software, documentation procedures, engineering standards and working practices used on projects. Greenpeg says engineering trainees will develop experience across areas including design, installation, testing and commissioning. Those pursuing the sales tracks will develop skills in product selection, quotations, customer engagement and business development. Participants will also receive mentorship from experienced engineering and sales professionals. The company describes the programme as providing a foundation that could support participants' future careers at Greenpeg or elsewhere in the industry. Recruitment involves assessment and interview Greenpeg has outlined a four-stage recruitment process. Applicants must first submit their information, preferred position and CV through the company's application system. Greenpeg's human resources team will then review submissions and contact shortlisted applicants. Those who progress will undergo a technical assessment and an interview with the relevant departmental leadership. Successful candidates will subsequently receive offers and join the next intake at Greenpeg's Lagos office. The programme is advertised as free to apply, and Greenpeg says only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Application dates contain conflicting information Prospective applicants should pay particular attention to an apparent discrepancy on Greenpeg's official programme page. One section states that applications are open from September 16 to October 9, 2026. However, other sections of the same page state that applications open on October 16, 2026. The two timelines cannot both apply to the same recruitment window as currently presented. Separate recent reports about the programme list October 9, 2026, as the application deadline, but applicants should verify the current status directly through Greenpeg's official recruitment portal before submitting an application. Given the discrepancy, candidates may also want to apply as early as the official application system permits rather than waiting until the stated deadline. Interested applicants can access the Technical Trainee Programme through [Greenpeg's official website](https://greenpeg.com/graduate-trainee/) , review the requirements for their preferred role and submit the requested information and CV through the company's application system.
